Executive coaching & leadership development
At all seniority levels organisations need individuals and teams who can shape and realise success, drawing on their ability to influence, inspire, collaborate, manage and above all, lead. Coaching is now recognised as the most powerful method for developing people’s capacity for leadership.

One of the most difficult situations faced by senior executives, especially at Board level, is the absence of someone to discuss ideas and problems with in an unbiased, non-judgemental, but business-wise and objective manner. Conducted in a highly ethical and confidential manner Griffonage executive coaching provides the space, business understanding and professional expertise to undertake this.

Team coaching & development
The Griffonage coaching approach to team learning is particularly effective when assisting the development, not just of the team itself, but also of its leader. It can be highly effective in today’s flatter corporate structures which often embrace up to three generations of people, all with potentially very different values and beliefs regarding career, work/life balance, training and development, loyalty, work environments and expectations of leaders.

University accredited postgraduate training
In conjunction with the University of Chester, during the Spring of 2012 Griffonage will introduce our first training course:  a postgraduate certificate specifically designed for internal coaches and manager-coaches with a particular emphasis on the development of teams and team leadership, especially during times of change.  If required this course can be customised to meet specific company requirements and run exclusively for the client.

Group facilitation
With our grounding in executive & team coaching, facilitation has become a rapidly growing element of the Griffonage portfolio.  Consequently, utilising as appropriate, team coaching expertise, chairmanship and business experience, we assist our clients think through, discuss and decide their most significant issues, thereby enabling them to move forward to the successful conclusion of their business plan.

Career coaching, including transition & outplacement coaching
When undertaking career coaching, if the executive is remaining within the company, perhaps transitioning to another, possibly more senior role, then the executive gains considerably from our continuously accumulating knowledge of their organisation. If the coaching is for outplacement, the executive also gains from our extensive experience of recruitment to help them further their career; and Michael Smith's understanding of stress gained via the study and practice of psychology-based business coaching contributes towards the executive staying mentally fit during times of demand and upheaval.

Executive / NED search & induction coaching
At Griffonage we have 16 years’ experience of international search in the UK, USA, Asia and Continental Europe. To ensure we are in a position to judge a candidate’s business, professional, cultural and behavioural suitability for an appointment, and the people they will work with, Griffonage interviews can last up to three hours. This depth of interviewing, coupled with an understanding of human behaviour developed through psychology-based business coaching, and extensive preparation by the candidate, results in short-list reports of genuine substance and relevance, thereby aiding the client’s decision-making process and so reducing the risk of inappropriate recruitment.

Griffonage research has demonstrated time and again that one of the most significant reasons why executives leave a new company during the first six months is because of poor induction. The Griffonage provision of on-boarding coaching, which is included as part of our recruitment package, not only demonstrates our long-term commitment to client support, it is also an invaluable element of that induction. As the coach who also recruited the successful candidate, Michael Smith will have already established rapport and gained a sound understanding of the company; this fast-tracks the coaching process and so helps the recruit become productive as quickly as possible.
